Wilson Dixon Rides in to town
12 May 2010
On Monday 10th May 2010, a lone cowboy rode into Taupo on his Shetland pony. His name was Wilson F. Dixon and he had come to town to perform his show 'Saddle Sore' at the ERUPT Lake Taupo Arts Festival. Before commencing his gig, Wilson thought he would get some inspiration by taking a flight to the mountains with Helistar Helicopters Taupo. After a 20 minute flight to the Kaimanawas, Wilson decided to go for a run along a rocky ridge into the sunset. From the Kaimanawas the flight proceeded over Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe & Tongariro before tracking back over lake Taupo on a beautiful clear evening.
We look forward to our next trip with Mr Wilson F. Dixon, so long as it does not go to the Brokeback Mountains!
